XLSX Viewer FAQ
What's the difference between XLSX and XLS?
XLSX is the modern Excel format (2007+) using Open XML, while XLS is the older binary format (Excel 97-2003). XLSX files are smaller, more reliable, and better supported. Our viewer supports both formats.
Can I view formulas?
Our viewer displays the calculated values of cells rather than the underlying formulas. This is similar to viewing an Excel file in "Values Only" mode.
Are charts and images displayed?
Currently, our viewer focuses on tabular data. Charts, images, and complex formatting are not displayed, but all cell values and text content are shown.
Does it support password-protected files?
No, password-protected Excel files cannot be opened. You'll need to remove the password protection in Excel first before viewing the file here.
Can I edit the spreadsheet?
This is a viewer only - you cannot edit files. For editing, use Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or LibreOffice Calc.
