ICS Viewer FAQ

What is an ICS file?

ICS (iCalendar) is the standard file format for calendar data exchange. It stores event details like dates, times, locations, descriptions, and organizer information. It's supported by Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, and virtually all calendar applications.

How do I export from Google Calendar?

In Google Calendar, go to Settings > Import & Export > Export. This downloads a .ics file containing all your calendar events. You can then open that file here to view and inspect the events.

Does it support recurring events?

Yes! Our ICS viewer parses and displays recurring event rules (RRULE), showing the recurrence pattern for repeating events such as daily, weekly, or monthly schedules.

How are timezones handled?

The viewer reads timezone information embedded in the ICS file (VTIMEZONE components) and displays event times with their associated timezone data, so you can see exactly when events occur.
